Rovensa Next to Distribute Novonesis’ Biosolutions for Plant Health in the U.S.

Novonesis and Rovensa Next have announced a distribution agreement under which Rovensa Next will commercialize select Novonesis agricultural biosolutions in the United States, beginning with the 2027 growing season. Through this agreement, Rovensa Next will deliver a more complete suite of biosolutions – from seed treatment through post-harvest–bringing together biostimulants, biofertilizers, bionutrition, biocontrol, and adjuvants to growers.

North America is one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic markets for agricultural biologicals, projected to reach approximately $5.5 billion by 2027, growing at more than 12% CAGR during the forecast period (2023–2027), as growers increasingly seek more targeted, science-based alternatives that deliver measurable value in the field while supporting sustainability goals.

Growers have relied on Novonesis for 130 years of proven innovative biosolutions. Under this agreement, Novonesis will continue to manufacture high-quality products, supporting the availability of solutions designed to improve productivity and performance for U.S. growers.

“This partnership with Rovensa Next aligns with our ambition to put more solutions into the hands of retailers and growers,” said René Garza, Senior Vice President of Planetary Health, Novonesis. “We’re especially excited about accelerating momentum in soybeans with core products like Optimize®, NodPro® and Cell-Tech® XC with its new ProPort Technology, and in pulses where TagTeam® BioniQ® and Cell-Tech® Multi-Pulse have already delivered strong double-digit growth.”

Rovensa Next, as a pure-play biosolutions ag-input company, has significantly strengthened its presence in the United States in recent years through the integration of leading companies such as Oro Agri, Agro-K, and Cosmocel. Today, the company operates with strong access to both specialty crop regions and broad-acre markets, supported by a well-established network of regional and national distributors. The United States is now Rovensa Next’s third largest market by revenue, underscoring its strategic importance.

For Rovensa Next, the partnership accelerates its mission to “Biosolutionize Agriculture”–the two portfolios covering the full crop cycle together, from planting to post-harvest, across an expanded range of crops, further reinforcing its commitment to expanding impactful biosolutions in key markets such as the United States. The agreement also highlights the strength of an emerging collaboration model in the biologicals space.

“Growers want solutions that are easy to use, proven to work, and deliver an ROI they can count on,” says Chuck Broughton, Head of North America at Rovensa Next. “The portfolio from this partnership, combined with the existing Rovensa Next portfolio, is built to deliver exactly that–and it happens to be grounded in biosolutions that solve critical crop production problems.”

Under the agreement, Rovensa Next will assume direct commercial responsibilities for products focused on soybeans, corn, pulses, and peanuts, including Optimize®, NodPro®, Torque®, Ratchet®, BioniQ®, TagTeam®, QuickRoots®, Cell-Tech® and JumpStart®. For fruit and vegetable crops, Actinovate® will be distributed by Rovensa Next alongside their biocontrol portfolio. Novonesis will retain select segments, including the forage portfolio of Optimize® and Nitragin® products for alfalfa and clover crops.
