Valent Partners with U.S. and Argentinian Companies to Boost Biorational Business

In an effort to strengthen its biorational business, Valent BioSciences Corp., a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Sumitomo Chemical has entered into a global licensing agreement with LidoChem and a development and commercialization cooperation agreement with Argentina-based, Rizobacter.

This is the next step in Valent’s efforts to expand its biorational business in the U.S. which began with the opening a fermentation manufacturing facility in 2014 followed by the acquisition of Mycorrhizal Applications LLC, a producer of mycorrhizal fungal inoculum, in 2015. The company also plans to build a research facility in Illinois, U.S.A. Sumitomo Chemical has also taken steps to strengthen its global agriculture-related business by integrating its plant protection chemicals business and VBC’s biorational business.
