Taking place 9-10 August 2023, at the JW Marriot Miami Turnberry in Aventura, FL, the AgriBusiness GlobalSM Trade Summit event will be the first time key players in the industry are able to have in-person contact with their colleagues and partners in China, largely due to COVID-19 restrictions. The event will help rebuild the damage of shutdowns and restrictions.
“In 2023, Chinese suppliers and global crop protection stakeholders are facing significant challenges on weak demand, high channel inventory, the uncertainty of geopolitics, and risk mitigation of a robust supply chain,” said David Li, Marketing Manager at SPM Biosciences (Beijing).

David Li
“If there is a conference that cannot be missed worldwide, that is the ABG Trade Summit.”
Li, author of the China Price Index for Agribusiness GlobalTM, will lead a discussion on how Chinese companies can leverage cost advantages, technological innovation, and organizational changes to regain competitiveness and reshape the global agrochemical market landscape in a post-COVID-19 world.
“It is far beyond an enterprise or a businessman to investigate. At ABG Trade Summit, the circumstance and predictive analysis for the future China agrochemical industry will be highlighted,” Li said.
Insights Into a Changing Market
The exhibition floor will showcase a range of products and services from technical-grade and formulated crop protection products to biopesticides, biostimulants, and micronutrients. There will be a diverse array of offerings to highlight the innovation and advancements in the agricultural sector. Attendees will also hear from several key stakeholders in the industry.

Derek Oliphant
Opening Keynote Presenters Derek Oliphant and Allister Phillips, Co-Founders of AgbioInvestor, will present “Recent Developments and Future Outlook for the Crop Protection and Seed Industries.” Oliphant and Phillips will provide a comprehensive analysis of the current market trends and a detailed look at the key drivers behind future developments in the crop protection and seed sectors.
Stephen Pearce, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Chemovateq Swiss Ag Investments; Mariola Kopcinski, Global Business Manager at AgroChemicals Ingevity; and Pedro Juan, Head of Food Chain Management for Certis Belchim, will discuss topics in the session: “Mending the Great Biological/Chemical Divide.” This panel will discuss the clash of innovation and rules that is shaping farming’s future. As growers chase high yields and eco-conscious consumers hunger for sustainability, governments, corporate unions, and scientific breakthroughs work to stitch up the chemical versus biological divide.
The high costs and lengthy timeframes involved in bringing agricultural products like biostimulants and chemical crop protection to market often hinder the availability of innovative solutions for growers. Dr. Piyatida Pucklai, Regulatory Policy Manager for knoell, along with other panelists, will discuss efforts to simplify regulations across different regions, enabling more efficient product development and access for farmers.
“I am looking forward to attending the Trade Summit 2023 to share regulatory happenings in the global and Asia region, and the typical challenges faced by the agchem industry there,” Pucklai said. “Trade Summit conference is a great way for the industry to get up-to-date information in a short period.”
Renee Targos, AgriBusiness Global Editor and event content lead, said, “This year, we’ve created long breaks for attendees to do business and network along with several 30-minute question and answer sessions on the show floor making it convenient for attendees to stop in for sessions that interest them.”
Reconnecting and New Opportunities

Melinda McCann
Melinda McCann, NA Business Excellence and Strategic Alliances Lead for ADAMA Agricultural Solutions and Agribusiness Global Advisory Board member, said, “After so many years without a face-to-face event, it is important to reconnect across the crop protection industry to discuss the challenges ahead and continue building relationships.”
With three out of four people walking the Trade Summit floor having decision making power, and 83% of attendees looking to make new strategic partnerships, the event promises to be a win for advancing business.
Fanwood Chemical Owner Jim DeLisi, presenting on “AgroChemical International Trade,” including import and export patterns, China 301 tariffs, duty suspensions, and Russia/Ukraine impact on agrochemicals, said, “After a couple year hiatus, it will be great to gather the worldwide agrochemicals industry in one place to renewal old acquaintances and forge new relationships.”
