Mexico Refuses 1,000-Ton Shipment of Glyphosate

The Mexican government says it won’t allow a 1,000-ton shipment of the pesticide glyphosate into the country, citing health and environmental concerns, according to an article in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Despite testing by many countries and agencies attesting to its safety, glyphosate has seen an increasing number of restrictions around the world. Bayer and before that Monsanto, the inventor of glyphosate, have faced many lawsuits from individuals claiming to have contracted cancer from using the herbicide.
