San Diego, California, con sede en EE. UU. Cibus LLC, a privately-held San Diego-based trait development company that produces crop traits for the agricultural community, has announced the addition of three scientists to its team as part of the first phase of a growth strategy that will include the addition of 10 new staff members by the end of 2009. All three will be based at Cibus’ San Diego headquarters.
Dr. Uvini Gunawardena, Ph.D., who brings more than 20 years of experience, will join Cibus as Research Scientist, Molecular Biology. She will be responsible for initiating, directing and executing all preclinical scientific research, planning and executing laboratory research, participating in patent applications, and contributing to scientific literature and conferences. Gunawardena also will be responsible for the management and professional development of the research group.
Brian Aevermann, MS y Tiffany Hsu han sido nombrados para el Departamento de Biología Celular como Investigador Asociado Senior y Asociado de Investigación, respectivamente. Como investigador asociado sénior, Aevermann será responsable de los aspectos técnicos específicos de la investigación que incorporará tanto el cultivo de células vegetales como la biología molecular de las plantas, centrándose principalmente en la biología de las células vegetales con especial énfasis en las técnicas de regeneración de las plantas.
