Nufarm Australia y la empresa de tecnología Phytech, con sede en Israel, acordaron desarrollar conjuntamente un sistema de monitoreo de plantas patentado en Australia y Nueva Zelanda.
El sistema proporciona monitoreo en tiempo real a través de dispositivos móviles en el campo en una variedad de parámetros que permiten a los productores optimizar los insumos y tomar otras decisiones que impactan tanto la calidad como el rendimiento de sus cultivos.
Nufarm dijo que inicialmente ayudará a introducir la tecnología en industrias agrícolas clave, trabajando con los principales productores para garantizar que tengan el apoyo agronómico y los datos necesarios para aprovechar el sistema.
El gerente general de Nufarm Australia, Lachlan McKinnon, dijo que la compañía se complace en asociarse con Phytech en tecnología de vanguardia que puede ayudar a los productores a tomar decisiones oportunas sobre la mejor manera de administrar sus cultivos.
“Along with other Nufarm programs like Spraywise, this is another opportunity to provide our grower customers with a suite of solutions that support their cropping programs,” McKinnon said. “Our initial focus will be on the cotton and almond industries, and there is exciting potential for the system’s use across a whole range of our crops.”
Phytech CEO Sarig Duek said the opportunity of working with Australia’s leading crop protection company will ensure the technology receives the in-field support required to maximize its potential. “We are delighted that Nufarm has agreed to collaborate with us on this initiative. We see Australia as a long-term and very important market for the technology, given the challenges of variable seasonal conditions.”
