As a facility with both a liquid and solid insecticide plant on the premises, Farmex S.A. takes its responsibilities for protecting people and the environment very seriously. It participates in initiatives from the Chemical Industry Committee of the National Society of Industries, such as the program for responsible care and the covenant of mutual aid for emergency response.
The factories and warehouses are separate from the offices and cafeteria, and a residue zone with full shower facilities keeps materials from being tracked between the buildings. Personal protective equipment is available for workers, who are also trained in emergency and risk management.

In the event of an emergency, equipment such as fire extinguishers are close by, and an evacuation plan is readily visible.

Ecuador is a tropical country with heavy annual rainfall. To protect the local environment, storm water drains from Incoagro Cia Ltda can be easily blocked to prevent contaminated runoff. Pipes located within the facility are sealed within brick or concrete curbs to above the level of the nearby waterways. And the facility itself is located and constructed to minimize the risk of contamination of waterways, groundwater reserves and public drainage systems.
