Uganda Pounces On Counterfeits

Inspectors from the crop protection department at the agriculture ministry have seized counterfeit agricultural chemicals, seeds and pharmaceuticals at a retail establishment in Kampala, Uganda.

The New Vision writer Gladys Kalibbala reports that dithane M45 was one of the chemicals found. Also found on the premises were empty packaging for registered chemicals that were used to repackage the counterfeits.

The amount seized was valued at about $10,000. The inspection was performed by the National Seed Certification Services at the Ministry of Agriculture.
