Top Chinese Pesticide Manufacturers

The Crop Protection Industry Association of China (CCPIA) released is 2012 China Top 100 Pesticide Manufacturers report at its 12th National Agrochemical Exchange Oct. 18-21, 2012. AgroChemEx is held each fall in Shanghai. It was previously held in Nanjing.

Zhejiang Wynca continues to be the largest China-based producer with $339 million in revenues in 2011. Jiangsu Yangnong and Hubei Sanonda are ranked second and third, respectively.

Collective revenue of top 100 companies reached $9.81 billion in 2011, a 23.6% increase compared to 2010. The increase is attributed to a recovery of the domestic market and an uptick in exports.

Some indicators that the domestic markets is improving:

–          122 Pesticide Retail Business Licenses were approved and issued in Hainan Province

–          China recently allocated almost $660 million for rural land reclamation in an effort to bring more land under cultivation.

–          SinoChem establishes a subsidiary in Shanghai to take over management of its pesticide business.

–          Zhengzhou Dahe and Wfoe Safe agree have reached an agreement to merge.
