Equipment designed to apply labels and stickers to the bottles and other packaging equipment were uncovered near the warehouse. Initial examination of the seized product containers indicate that the products were manufactured in China.
Local industry representatives and the police are working to gain a better understanding of the distribution channels, and to determine their final destination. With Kursk only about 100 kms from the Ukraine border, it is likely that the products were destined for the Ukraine and possibly, the EU. There are indications that the transport routes to Kursk may be different for differing consignments; some arrived by sea and others by road, with some possibly running through an EU port.
