The article states that two of Rallis’ chief competitors, Punjab Chemicals and United Phosphorus, already have established presences in the region with the purchases of Argentina-based Sintesis Quimica and Reposo, respectively.

Rallis also is strengthening its operations in the Indian market, and the article notes that Rallis is rumored to have looked at Mumbai-based Gharda Chemicals as a possible acquisition.
