Zambia Squashes Biotech

The bill was presented to the country’s National Assembly in March, and includes the establishment of the National Biosafety Authority (NBA) to oversee the regulatory procedures and guidelines for GM crops in the country. For over a year, Zambia has upheld a ban on GM food, even in the face of continual food shortages.
