O milho Arginex da Arevo produz mais grãos com menos nitrogênio em testes de campo independentes realizados na Europa e na América do Sul.
Agtech company Arevo has released new results from independent field trials of Arginex Corn, its arginine-based crop nutrition applied as a seed treatment. Across trial sites in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and Brazil, corn treated with Arginex delivered up to 4.3% higher grain yield while standard nitrogen fertilizer was reduced by up to 30% – proving growers can produce more with less input.
The trials run across different soil pH levels and textures and showed consistent, repeatable results:
- Up to +4.3% more grain yield at 30% reduced standard nitrogen – a statistically significant uplift over full-rate standard practice in a 2025 European trial.
- Yield on par with full-rate standard practice at 30% less nitrogen with the seed treatment alone.
- +3.4% average grain yield uplift when applied on top of full standard fertilizer – up to +3.8% at a single site – showing the treatment adds value even without cutting inputs.
- Full fertilizer programme matched with 40% less nitrogen and phosphorus across three South American trial sites – highly significant (p<0.001) at every site.
- Up to +4.7% whole-plant silage biomass at 25% reduced nitrogen, extending the case to silage corn
- No penalty on germination, and up to +8.0% increase in plant height.
The results come from replicated, multi-treatment factorial field trials run by independent contract research organizations across Europe and South America between 2024 and 2025, with treatment effects confirmed by statistical analysis.
And they come at a time when seed producers, breeders, and retailers are looking for ways to make their products more climate-resistant with Western Europe seeing its hottest June–July period on record and England and Wales its driest July, resulting in low soil moisture and another disastrous wildfire season. Recent years have also seen increasingly severe heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, and excessive rains and flooding over South America.
“Farming is unpredictable. Arginex is not,” said Niklas Åström, CEO of Arevo. “Because Arginex is a non-living, single-compound formula, every batch contains the exact same molecule. The data show it consistently improves yield and nitrogen use efficiency – more crop per unit of nitrogen, season after season. That’s what growers need when everything else in the field keeps changing.”
Arginex Corn combines arginine with phosphate in a stable, slow-release complex that plants take up intact, without prior mineralization. Unlike biostimulants built on living microbes or variable blends, it is a non-microbial formulation with a long shelf life, stable on-seed and compatible with standard seed treatment programs. The arginine also supports soil biology, attracting mycorrhizal fungi and strengthening root systems for stronger early growth.
Arevo welcomes commercial partners in corn and upcoming wheat seed coating products and will present the full trial data at the Euroseeds Congress 2026 in Valencia, Spain, 25–28 October, under the theme “Farming is unpredictable. Arginex is not.”
