Bio-insecticides – for a safer, more environmentally friendly and sustainable future
Nowadays, people’s awareness of environmental protection is gradually strengthened, and the drawbacks and shortcomings of traditional chemical pesticides are becoming increasingly prominent. Public concern about the possible side effects of chemical insecticides has accelerated the research and development of bio-insecticides. The global bio-insecticides market size is expected to grow from USD 2.2 billion in 2020 to USD 4.6 billion in 2025. An ideal bio-insecticide should have the characteristics of low toxicity to non-target organisms, easy degradation, low dosage and high effect.
As a professional crop protection solution provider who has been deeply involved in the industry for more than 20 years, NOVA has been investing in the actual application effect of bio-insecticides for many years, and constantly adjusts and optimizes formulations according to the feedback from global users, to provide its global customers better bio-insecticide products and solutions. Among them, many products have been widely used in the fields of different countries, and have achieved good application effect feedback.
Spinosad: It is a kind of macrolide pollution-free and high-efficiency bio-insecticide extracted from the fermentation broth of Polyspora spinosa. It has the characteristics of broad insecticidal spectrum, high activity, high selectivity, extremely low toxicity to mammals and birds, and only slight toxicity to aquatic animals; it is one of the main means of very effective control of pests. At present, NOVA can provide 0.24g/L CB 120g/l SC, 480g/L SC and other formulated products, which are specially designed to kill resistant insects, and the effect is faster, better and more durable.
Matrine: As a natural plant pesticide, in addition to its low toxicity to humans and animals, wide insecticidal spectrum, and high insecticidal activity, matrine also has good control effects on vegetable downy mildew, blight, and anthracnose. In the wide application practice in different countries, very good control effects have been achieved. NOVA provides 0.5% SL, 1.0% SL, 2.0% SL and other formulated products. In addition to killing insects and bacteria, they can also effectively promote crop growth and significantly increase yield.
Helicoverpa armigera nucleopolyhedrovirus (HearNPV): HearNPV has good control effect, long-lasting effect, and no toxic and side effects to other organisms. It is an insect virus insecticide product developed and produced by countries all over the world. With the breakthrough of cotton bollworm group breeding technology, the bottleneck problem of restricting the industrial production of HearNPV has been solved. This product is mainly used to control cotton bollworm and tobacco budworm on cotton, tomato, pepper, tobacco and other crops. NOVA can currently provide HearNpV 10*10^8 PIB/g WP and the mixture product with Bacillus thuringiensis.
Screening safe and efficient active ingredients, improving processing technology, developing practical new dosage forms, solving issues such as the shelf life of microbial products and the stability of bio-insecticide have always been the direction of efforts of the industry. The NOVA technical team will continue to pay close attention to this field, combining the latest achievements in product research and development and the actual needs of end customers in different markets, to carry out relevant formulation application research work, and continue to work hard for a safer, more environmentally friendly and sustainable future.
