领先企业如何在国际农业综合企业中前进
It’s easy for companies to become comfortable in the ag input industry, but the leading companies are always looking for new opportunities to grow.
Many companies with this mentality attended the 全球农业商业™贸易峰会 in Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S., on 5-6 August, which brought together companies to network with industry peers, explore potential partnerships, and learn from educational programming to stay informed about what’s going on in the industry.
Some interesting facts learned at the Trade Summit this year included:
- Biological competition. One U.S. ag retailer can hear the pitches of more than 100 biological companies each year. In one of the sessions, U.S. ag retailers recommended that biological companies research products that are going to market to differentiate their products’ value propositions, make a case for return on investment (for the grower and ag retailer), and get data from trials done regionally with knowledge of how it will enhance current products used by growers in the area.
- Artificial intelligence in R&D. AI is leveling the playing field in discovering new molecules. Stephen Pearce, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Chemovateq Swiss Ag Investments and Chairman of 阿库蒙特, said this means companies with “the largest R&D budgets or with the broadest portfolios” won’t necessarily be the ones who are guaranteed to be first to market with new and innovative molecules. You can read more of his insights in the article, “决定作物保护领域下一代赢家的八大因素” here.
- Procurement strategies. This year, U.S. ag retailers are facing tough decisions with tariffs, tight margins, and other issues. When working with overseas suppliers, Craig White, Director of 因维提斯 Procurement and Manufacturing for Innvictis, said, “It’s really about figuring out the diversification and dual sourcing and getting back integrated, working with partners from China, the U.S., and India, and managing the current environment with tariffs. That’s a big part of the sourcing strategy that we have to have as large retail distribution in the U.S.”
There is a lot of change happening within the industry. Learning from each other and hearing from decision-makers is how we all get through the current challenges.
In this issue, we talked with top companies from around the world who are excelling in areas of R&D, innovation, customer service, sustainability, and more so that other industry companies may learn from them and improve upon their own operations.
Their insights offer valuable lessons for any organization striving to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving industry. Each story has points to consider as your company strategizes for 2027. We hope you will be inspired and find new perspectives to help guide your company to its own success.
