7th ThermoSeed Facility Opens in Sweden

Swedish agricultural cooperative Lantmännen opened a ThermoSeed facility Eslöv, Sweden, the second in Sweden and the seventh in the world. The new facility will meet the increasing demand for this disinfection method that eradicates harmful pathogens and boosts germination vigor and results in more uniform and faster establishment in the field, according to a press release from Incotec, patent holder for the technology.

The process, uses only hot humid air and strictly regulated parameters. After treatment there is no drying phase needed meaning ThermoSeed treated seeds can be packed immediately. The seeds are sound and healthy and can be stored as any other seeds and retain a normal shelf life.
