Arysta LifeScience

According to U.S.-based Plant Health Care, Harp-N-Tek is a technology platform for the production of harpin proteins that are formulated into pathogen-free products. When Harp-N-Tek seed treatments or foliar plant health regulators are applied, the plants turn on stress-defense and growth systems. According to Plant Health Care, the result is improved crop vigor, stamina, nutrient uptake and reproductive growth. In addition, this technology is also said to reduce nematode egg and juvenile populations among roots.

Although commercial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, Arysta LifeScience says it will develop and commercialize harpin alpha beta in several crops and markets in combination with a number of its branded products.

Paul Schmidt, CEO of Plant Health Care, said, “We are delighted to enter into this relationship with Arysta LifeScience, which promises a number of new products that will use Harpin alpha beta technology to offer improved plant health benefits and superior disease control.”
