BASF, MARDI Launch Rice Clearfield Production System
26 July 2010 PERAK, Malaysia –- The Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) has collaborated with BASF to use its Clearfield Production System to control weedy rice and other paddy weeds, as well as substantially reduce the cost of weed management. BASF’s Clearfield Production System combines high-yielding herbicide-tolerant seeds with region-specific broad-spectrum herbicides that not only control weeds and improve crop quality, but will also help Malaysian rice crops with global market acceptance. The Clearfield Production System consists of herbicide tolerant rice variety OnDuty Herbicide and Clearfield Stewardship guide.
