Chemtura Fungicide Receives EPA Approval

RANCONA Summit, a novel soybean seed-applied fungicide from Middlebury, Connecticut, US-based Chemtura, has received registration from the US Environmental Protection Agency, according to High Plains/Midwest Ag Journal. Chemtura describes RANCONA Summit as a “step change” for soybean seed treatment, which gives growers the ability to access all the distinctive seed and seedling disease protective features of RANCONA in a ready-to-use product for soybeans.

The new fungicide has contact as well as systemic activities; Chemtura reports that it is highly efficacious against a majority of seed and soil-borne fungi in the Zygomycetes, Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, and Fungi Imperfect (Deuteromycetes) classes. RANCONA Summit protects against seed and soil-borne diseases such as phomopsis and pythium, as well as Fusarium and Rhizoctonia.
