Dow, Bayer Sign Cotton Cross-Licensing Agreements

INDIANAPOLIS, Indian, US and MONHEIM, Germany — Dow AgroSciences and Bayer CropScience have entered into cross-licensing agreements regarding cotton technologies, according to a press release. From Bayer CropScience, Dow AgroSciences will receive a license to commercialize the GlyTol glyphosate tolerant technology in Dow AgroSciences’ PhytoGen cottonseed varieties in the US, along with an option to license it in other countries that approve Glytol for Bayer CropScience.

Bayer CropScience will receive a license to commercialize Dow AgroSciences’ WideStrike Insect Protection technology in Brazil and other Latin American countries, together with an option to license in other territories when Dow has obtained regulatory approval for WideStrike in those countries. Dow AgroSciences also granted Bayer CropScience a US license on its glyphosate tolerant cotton patent, which Dow AgroSciences received in 2004.
