Dow, Radiant Genomics Expand Research of Natural Products for Crop Protection

Dow AgroSciences and Radiant Genomics announced an expansion of a research agreement signed in mid-2015 to focus on discovery of natural products for crop protection.

The collaboration combines the proprietary metagenomic and engineering-biology technologies from Radiant Genomics with Dow AgroSciences’ industry-leading natural products discovery and product development capabilities to deliver new products from naturally derived chemistries.

The companies are building on success from the current collaboration, and are expanding the application of Radiant Genomics’ technology platform to include additional natural product targets for discovery research in both crop protection and traits. The expanded relationship broadens the application of Radiant Genomics’ propriety technologies across Dow AgroSciences’ research organization while enabling Radiant Genomics to expand their platform technologies.

“Expanding our collaboration with Radiant Genomics is an important next step in leveraging the power of our collective expertise in natural products. I’m confident our work will translate into new sustainable solutions to address the expanding need for food production across the planet,” said Daniel R. Kittle, PhD, Vice President of Research and Development at Dow AgroSciences.

“We are excited to build on the success we have achieved thus far in our current collaboration with Dow AgroSciences and are looking forward to expanding the application of Radiant Genomics’ technology platform across Dow AgroSciences’ crop protection and seeds research organizations. We see the expansion of this collaboration as a strong validation of our technology, team, and approach,” said Dr. Jeffrey Kim, Chief Scientific Officer, Radiant Genomics, Inc.
