FMC, GAT Microencapsulation in Distribution, Licensing Deal

FMC Corp. said it signed a licensing, distribution and services agreements with Austria’s GAT Microencapsulation AG for a range of advanced crop protection products and proprietary formulation technologies.

According to the agreement, Philadelphia-based FMC will access GAT Microencapsulation’s complete library of intellectual property, which includes a portfolio of registered products and new products in development. FMC will be the main distributor of GAT Microencapsulation’s product portfolio globally.

GAT Microencapsulation is self-described as a young, international, innovation-oriented group with a professional dynamic. Founded in 1999 by a team of scientists oriented towards research and development, the company is a generic innovator known for cost-effective technologies and a complex combination of nine international patents.

In reference to how GAT Microencapsulation fits in with FMC’s goals, Mark Douglas, president of FMC Agricultural Products, says, “Over the years, FMC’s innovation and collaboration initiatives have delivered impressive crop protection technologies.
