India: Hemani to Start Production of Sulfentrazone Technical in September 2021

Hemani Group has announced that its production facility for sulfentrazone Technical will become operational in September 2021. The plant with a monthly capacity of 200 MT is located at the latest developed GIDC site at Sayakha, Dist. Bharuch. The construction is ongoing and the plant will be a state-of-the art facility, with DCS Controls.

Sayakha is the newly developed Chemical Zone by State of Gujarat and this project has been implemented by Hemani Crop Care Private Limited, which is a company under the Hemani Group umbrella. This site has been earmarked for production of herbicides. In addition to sulfentrazone, metribuzin Technical is already being manufactured since October 2020, and prosulfocarb Technical will be launched by end of February 2021.

Metribuzin Technical Plant has a capacity of 1,200 MT per year, whereas prosulfocarb Technical Plant will have an annual installed capacity of 5,000 MT. The entire site will produce herbicides and marks a major step for the group to diversify into herbicides. Hemani also produces two other herbicides: metamitron Technical and dicamba Technical at its Dahej Plant. Globally, Hemani is the largest producer of Pyrethroids (insecticides) at its plants at Dahej, and is fully backward integrated.

For future projects, Hemani has also acquired another larger site at Sayakha, which will be the largest site for Hemani in its history.
