Bayer’s Spirotetramat Gets First Approval

The product, which will be sold worldwide as Movento, will launch in 2008 for use on pome and stone fruit for the control of sucking insects. It is also for use on citrus, grapevines, nuts, vegetables, and potatoes against aphids, cicadas, grape lice (Phylloxera vastatrix), mealybugs, whiteflies, and cottony cushion scales (Icerya purchasi).

One of the benefits of the product according to Bayer is that it is safe to beneficial insects, making it fit well into resistance management and integrated pest management systems. It has a good decomposition and residue profile, which suits it to international food production chain standards, Bayer adds.
