FMC Insecticide Registered for At-Plant Use

FMC Corporation announced a new registration of Brigadier insecticide. Now approved for at-plant use in potatoes in the United States, Brigadier controls soil insects while continuing to provide systemic control of foliar insects, according to FMC.

“Brigadier is now one of the only broad-spectrum insecticide products labeled for both at-plant and foliar use in potatoes,” said Bob Leifker, product manager, FMC Agricultural Products in a prepared statement.

Brigadier insecticide, which has approval for use in 43 of 50 states, offers protection against soil insects such as wireworms while also systemically controlling foliar insects including aphids, Colorado potato beetles and leafhoppers.The insecticide also provides residual control for crop protection against sucking and chewing insects.

Application methods include ground, aerial or chemigation. In addition, Brigadier may be applied in tank mixtures, according to the company.
