Valifenalate is a systemic fungicide belonging to the chemical class of dipeptides, with activity against oomycetes (also known as “water molds”). The sale includes the new active ingredient IR8854, which is “in the early development stage and brings potential synergies to Valifenalate,” Isagro said.

“The sale…is consistent with the revision of the business strategy pursued by the two partners, Chemtura and Isagro, in order to refocus resources towards projects carrying greater strategic value for them, with the aim of optimizing their portfolios,” Isagro said.

Further terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
