Doriane Launches Bloomeo Breeding Software Platform for Smarter, Faster Plant Breeding

Doriane, a pioneer in plant breeding data solutions, announces the official launch of Bloomeo Breeding, its next-generation software platform dedicated to managing and transforming plant breeding programs.

Following the successful deployment of Bloomeo across agronomy testing and variety development, Bloomeo Breeding is now available for immediate use by breeding organizations worldwide, from global seed companies to mid-sized breeders and research institutes.

Bloomeo Breeding introduces a paradigm shift

Plant breeding organizations are under increasing pressure to deliver faster genetic progress.

As the first workflow-driven platform, Bloomeo Breeding unifies every stage of the breeding lifecycle, from parental selection to advancement and commercialization, eliminating silos and accelerating progress.

At the core of this approach, Bloomeo Breeding acts as the central nervous system of breeding R&D, enabled by an open, API-driven architecture that seamlessly connects legacy systems, laboratory platforms, and external analytics tools.

“Breeding organizations don’t need another database. They now require collaborative, workflow-oriented systems capable of streamlining breeding operations, integrating complex data flows, and helping teams make better decisions, faster,” said Louis Gauthier, Co-CEO of Doriane.

Maximize breeding efficiency with real-time KPIs

Bloomeo’s platform optimizes breeding program ROI through a KPI-driven approach. By defining breeding objectives upfront, it systematically tracks progress, providing:

  • Real-time visibility into trials, operations, and performance to identify bottlenecks and save time.
  • Decision dashboards that integrate all relevant data for faster, smarter choices.
  • Direct comparison of cultivar performance against target product profiles.

Bridging genetics, agronomy, and environmental context

A key innovation of Bloomeo Breeding lies in its ability to integrate genetics (G), environment (E), and management practices (M) into a single data model.

The platform enables organizations to:

  • Manage day-to-day operations across field, laboratory, and office activities.
  • Capture field data seamlessly through a mobile, offline-first application.
  • Integrate phenotypic, genotypic, environmental, and agronomic data in one place.
  • Create a single source of truth across programs, regions, and teams, with integrated data validation and quality control mechanisms.
  • Analyze multi-factor trials and better understand genotype × environment × management interactions (GxExM).

This holistic approach allows breeders to move beyond isolated data analysis toward fully contextualized, data-driven decisions.

“Modern breeding is no longer just about genetics. Understanding how varieties interact with their environment and management practices is critical,” said Tristan Duminil, Head of Agronomy at Doriane. “Bloomeo Breeding is designed to make this complexity actionable.”

Built for adoption, designed for all stakeholders in a breeding organization

Bloomeo Breeding is designed to support all stakeholders in the breeding lifecycle, from field technicians and breeders to laboratory teams, data scientists, and management.

Like the other Bloomeo modules, the platform has been designed with a strong focus on usability, featuring a modern and intuitive interface.

This user-centric design, paired with a proven adoption methodology, ensures rapid and widespread adoption: existing Bloomeo module is currently used by over 550 users within Limagrain, with an adoption rate of 95%, while competing solutions often face longer implementation cycles and lower user adoption, even long after project initiation.

A major investment in the future of breeding

Bloomeo Breeding is the result of a €10 million investment over four years, combining Doriane’s 40+ years of expertise in plant breeding data management with the latest advances in software engineering.

Doriane will continue investing €2 million per year to further enhance the platform, with a strong focus on:

  • Envirotyping and environmental data integration
  • Advanced analytics
  • Continuous improvement of workflows and user experience
  • Partnerships with leading AgTech companies

“This launch is a major milestone, but it’s only the beginning,” added Louis Gauthier. “We are building a platform that will evolve continuously with our clients and with the evolving challenges of agriculture.”

Live demonstrations at ISF World Seed Congress

Bloomeo Breeding will be officially presented at the ISF World Seed Congress 2026 in Lisbon, where attendees can discover the platform through live demonstrations at Doriane’s booth.

In addition, Doriane will host a dedicated webinar on June 18th, offering a deeper dive into the platform’s capabilities and real-world applications for breeding organizations. Register here.
