Monsanto Licenses GM Soy Traits To Dow
CREVE COEUR, Missouri, US — Monsanto Co. has granted a non-exclusive, royalty-bearing US license to Dow AgroSciences to develop, produce, sell and sublicense genetically modified (GM) soybean seed and germplasm with Monsanto’s Roundup Ready 2 Yield trait, according to a company press release.
Under the agreement, Dow AgroSciences has an option to license the Roundup Ready 2 Yield technology in additional countries, including Brazil, once Monsanto has received regulatory approval in those nations for the trait. Dow AgroSciences will have rights to stack Roundup Ready 2 Yield with other GM traits, as well as rights to out-license Dow AgroSciences’ germplasm containing Roundup Ready 2 Yield technology, alone or stacked, to third parties that hold Genuity Roundup Ready 2 Yield licenses from Monsanto.
No other details of the agreement were disclosed.
