Mosaic Biosciences and Elicit Plant Launch Joint Program to Develop New Canola Solutions for North America

Mosaic Biosciences and Elicit Plant have announced the signing of a joint development agreement to identify and develop a new solution for canola (oilseed rape) across North America. Leveraging Elicit Plant’s proprietary EliTerra® technology platform, the program aims to identify and develop a new solution designed to help canola growers preserve yield potential under water-stress conditions.

Canola is one of Canada’s most important field crops and a strategic agricultural commodity, with Canadian producers reporting a record 23.4 million acres planted in 2026. In the United States, canola production is smaller but remains important in northern-tier growing regions, particularly North Dakota. Across these production areas, climate variability and water-stress events are creating additional pressure for growers to maintain productivity and protect yield potential.

The collaboration reflects both companies’ commitment to science-based innovation, field validation, and the development of solutions that address real agronomic challenges.

As part of the program, Elicit Plant and Mosaic will conduct an extensive agronomic evaluation program across key North American canola production regions. Through this evaluation program, Mosaic Biosciences and Elicit Plant aim to advance a canola solution that is field-validated, practical for growers, and capable of helping protect yield potential under water-stress conditions.
