Syngenta, Marrone Enter Distribution Agreement

Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBI) has signed a distribution agreement with Syngenta Crop Protection AG. Syngenta will exclusively distribute MBI’s biofungicide Regalia in specialty crop markets throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Regalia boosts plants’ natural immune defenses to control fungal and bacterial diseases. MBI is currently achieving rapid adoption of Regalia in specialty crop markets in the USA. It is used for bacterial disease control in tomatoes, peppers, citrus and walnuts, and mildew control in leafy greens, cucurbits, berries and vines, according to the press release.

“We are delighted to sign this agreement with Syngenta Crop Protection. It recognizes the value Regalia brings to both its portfolio and its customers,” said Pam Marrone, founder and CEO of Marrone Bio Innovations in a prepared statement. “Partnerships like this are key for MBI as we rapidly expand into global markets.”
Regalia will be submitted for the EU’s Annex 1 inclusion this spring.
