SYRICI Appointed As the New Secretariat Host Organization of ISO Technical Committee on Common Names for Pesticides and Other Agricultural Chemicals

In 2024, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) approved China as the secretariat host country of the ISO Technical Committee on Common Names for Pesticides and Other Agricultural Chemicals (ISO/TC 81). Leveraging its extensive experience in standardization work and abundant expert resources, Shenyang Research Institute of Chemical Industry (SYRICI), a subsidiary of Sinochem Holdings Co., Ltd., was appointed as the secretariat host organization of ISO/TC 81, undertaking the daily administration of the technical committee.

Established in 1953, ISO/TC 81 is primarily responsible for the standardization of common names for pesticides and other agricultural chemicals. It currently has 40 member countries and administers three international standards.

Meanwhile, China National Chemical Information Center (CNCIC), also a subsidiary of Sinochem Holdings Co., Ltd., has long been providing services such as agrochemical product registration for global agrochemical enterprises. To date, it has assisted enterprises in securing registrations for 6 new pesticide products, with over 20 new pesticide products currently under registration. Its agrochemical product registration business has achieved global coverage, with cooperative clients in countries and regions including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, France, Denmark, South Korea, India, and Singapore.
