With a security system providing 24-hour monitoring of its warehouse, Agroganadero Ltda. makes sure its facility is protected against break-ins. In its fight against crime, the company also develops campaigns against illegal and counterfeit products through advertising and media, as well as identification of products on the ground and in participation with national programs such as ICA, IDSN, and ANDI.
As well as protecting the environment and community against harm caused by stolen or illegal chemicals, Agroganadero makes certain its facility and workers are safe in case of emergencies. It receives training from the local fire station, and simulates emergency situations as a way to prepare its employees for safe and correct response in case of an actual event.
The company considers environmental protection to be an investment, stating: “Environmental care is a key item to human subsistence, because from the environment depends all the food production.”

Almacén Máxima Tecnologia Maxitec S.A.
A distributor of crop protection chemicals, seeds, biotechnology products, and fertilizers, the facility for Almacén Máxima Tecnologia Maxitec S.A. was designed and constructed according to regulations by the Ministry of Health, following international OMS and FAO rules. The office where customers visit is separate from the warehouse, keeping chemicals away from the public.
For 30 years, the company has only purchased from serious, responsible, and recognized manufacturers and firms in the agrochemical market.
Almacén Máxima believes that growers must be responsible in the application of agrochemical inputs to protect and improve cultivation without environmental danger. Company proprietor Ricardo Esquival Barrantes says he has taken many groups of agriculturists of different cultures throughout the country for education and training. The company actively follows their products from manufacturer to end user, making sure the protect is safe and legal, and that the grower or applicator is using the product properly. It offers soil sampling services and ascertains that its customers are using the correct products in the correct dosages to solve their insect, nutrition, and disease problems.
