2011 World of Respect Awards

Since 2004, DuPont Crop Protection and Farm Chemicals International have joined forces to honor the best of environmental stewardship shown by entrants to the Environmental Respect Awards all around the world. Originally started in the United States in 1990, this year’s winners were selected from more than 130 entries and represent 21 different countries.

To compete, retail and distribution businesses fill out an extensive self-evaluation and provide photographs and comments to support their entry. The focus of the competition is environmental stewardship at a facility, emergency readiness, product safety, proper use education and provision of sound services to growers, including consulting, scouting and container recycling.

“Every business should invest and have environmental protection policies, it’s a part of the social responsibility that we should have,” says Carlos Alberto Canez Guitierrez, representing CAVE, S.A., a 2011 winner from Loc Mochis, Mexico.

From the town of Yunlin, halfway around the world in Taiwan, comes an echo from another business owner in his Environmental Respect Award application.
