African Leaders Gather to Address Drought, Famine

Ministers, secretaries and other leaders from Horn of Africa countries have met in Kenya to develop drought and famine emergency action plans, according to Coastweek.com.

Representatives from seven countries and donor institutions will discuss the details of a newly formed Drought Trust Fund as adverse weather conditions are becoming more frequent.

Among the things discussed include disaster response procedures, infrastructure in dry lands and continuing investment in agriculture.
