Nigerian Agriculture Gets Financial Boost

Nigeria’s Bauchi State government has set aside over US $13 million for the purchase of fertilizer and other agricultural inputs as part of its agricultural development programs for 2009, reports the Daily Champion. More than half of that amount is earmarked for the procurement of fertilizer, which will be sold to farmers at a 50% subsidy.
