African Plant Nutrition Institute Launches Growing Africa Magazine
The African Plant Nutrition Institute (APNI) is launching its magazine Growing Africa, a brand new semi-annual, digital publication initiated to provide a forum serving stakeholders interested in Africa-centric plant nutrition science.
The publication seeks to strengthen connections within the research community in Africa, and promote impactful solutions, programs, and activities. As a source of practical information, Growing Africa fills a gap in the current knowledge base by providing scientific information in an actionable manner.
“Growing Africa has evolved out of a consensus that access to useful and pragmatic knowledge on crop management, and particularly on plant nutrition management, is limited in Africa. Therefore, bridging this knowledge gap would be a crucial contribution that APNI can make to African agricultural development,” says Dr. Kaushik Majumdar, Director General, APNI.
This first Issue of Growing Africa, found at https://growingafrica.pub, starts the conversation on how best to engage our understanding of crop nutrition and develop solutions for the diverse and complex contexts of African agriculture. The May Issue includes a range of articles connected by a common thread – adoption of improved plant nutrition practices that are co-developed with farmers creates economic, social, and environmental benefits.
Growing Africa is designed to be full of learning opportunities ranging from interpretive research stories from the field, review articles explaining agronomic concepts, and illustrative examples built around published research.
