Bidstrup was recognized for advancing the rights of all farmers to choose biotechnology to boost global crop production. “We trust science when we hop in an airplane … we trust science when we inject a medicine, when we take a tablet … and, in this case, we have to trust science to feed the world,” said Bidstrup, adding that it’s up to farmers to try to convince those in the cities that producers understand biotech crops and know how to use them.
