BCPC Evicts Two Companies
The stands of two Chinese generic companies — BSM Chemical Import and Export (Ningbo) and Hangzhou Udragon Chemicals (Yuhang) — were shut down. The companies which claimed their patents were infringed were BASF, Bayer CropScience, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont, and Syngenta.
BASF said that the proprietary active ingredients infringed were the insecticides chlorfenapyr and fipronil and the fungicides dimethomorph, epoxiconazole, and kresoxim-methyl.
BCPC inspected exhibitors’ materials this year, including brochures and posters, prior to the event, and all generic exhibitors were warned about patent infringement issues, said Dr. Colin Ruscoe, exhibition director.
2007 marked the third consecutive year that BCPC had to remove companies from the exhibition hall for patent infringement.
