China: Pesticide Production Up To Start 2007

While 38.3% consisted of insecticides, growth in this segment was less than half as strong as herbicides and fungicides, which represented 33.3% and 7.7% of the first half production, respectively. Part of the reason for the less vibrant growth in insecticides stems from government initiatives to cut down on older, more toxic chemistries, including several organophosphates.
