Deltapine Rolls Out New Cotton Naming System

Monsanto’s D&PL business will introduce a new naming system in 2009, designed to help growers better identify promising new Deltapine brand cotton varieties. The new four digit numbering system will include an uppercase abbreviation at the end of the name to represent the included trait technology. The first two numbers indicate the year the variety was introduced, and the second two numbers show relative maturity.
