Entercel Fungicide Enhancement Tests Well
The tests were conducted at the Plant-Pathogen Interactions Division at Rothamsted Research based in Harpenden, Herts, UK, with whom Entercel collaborated on the project to explore the ability of the Entercel enhancer technology to restore and improve the efficacy of triazole fungicides, which are used globally on a number of cereal crops.
According to a release from Entercel, Septoria triticihas, which is becoming increasingly insensitive to the triazoles, has forced farmers to use increasingly higher doses. Data from the Rothamsted/Entercel collaboration demonstrated that reduced rates of a major triazole along with Entercel’s enhancer technology afforded better control than higher rates of the triazole alone, even against the least sensitive isolates causing Septoria leaf blotch disease. In some cases, the addition of the enhancer provided for up to a 32-fold reduction in infection levels, the release states.
