EU Adds Four AIs To Annex I

The European Commission has added four active ingredients to Annex I of Directive 91/414 for agrochemical registrations. Those products are:

  • Metrafenone, fungicide (BASF).
  • Thiamethoxam, insecticide (Syngenta). Listed under the condition that Member States must pay attention to ground water contamination issues and the protection of acquatic organisms, as well as long-term risks to small herbivores when the product is used as a seed treatment.
  • Spinosad, insecticide (Dow). Listed with the condition that Member States registering spinosad products must oversee the product’s use in greenhouses to protect worms and aquatic organisms.
  • QRD133, biofungicide (AgraQuest).
