EU: Benfuracarb Phase-Out Set

Benfuracarb was not re-registered by EU authorities, a decision made while the active ingredient was in the second round of review. The EC said that the evaluation raised concerns about consumer exposure to the metabolite, carbofuran; ground water contamination; and risks to non-target organisms.
