EU Thiodicarb Phase-Out Established

EU member states are to withdraw approvals for thiodicarb by Nov. 25. The EC also stated that any periods established for the sale and use of existing stocks of the ai should be as short as possible, and should expire by Nov. 25 2008.

According to the EC, the ai was withdrawn in the second round of EU Directive 91/414 evaluation due to dietary risk concerns related to its use on grapevines, as well as data gaps for its use as a molluscicide.
