Crop Energies AG Expects EU Ethanol Growth

Despite the government’s abandonment of the goal of an ethanol content hike in gasoline from 5% to 10%, Europe’s biggest ethanol producer expects a bright future for ethanol in the region, according to an article provided by the news service Chemical Newsflash.

The announcement by German federal Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel to abandon the increase in the permissible amount of ethanol is expected to be temporary, according to Crop Energies. The company stated that it can be assumed an extension of the permitted admixture limits for ethanol will take effect at a later date within the framework of the European legislation aimed at changing fuel quality guidelines.
