In Memoriam: UPI’s John D. Miller

It is with the deepest regret and sorrow that United Phosphorus, Inc. (UPI) announces the passing of John D. Miller. John Miller, age 52, of Fairfield, Pa., died on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008.

After receiving his Bachelor Degree in entomology from Penn State University in 1978, John joined Central Chemical Corporation in Hagerstown, Md., as a Sales representative. On May 1, 1981, John joined what was to become UPI. During his 27 year tenure with the company, John received numerous awards including Salesman of the Year, Charter Member of the President’s Club and 1984 Outstanding Young Man of America.

John is survived by his wife, Charlene; parents, Jerry D. and Virginia Miller; sister, Carol, and her husband, Louis Holbrook, of Biglerville; and two nieces.
