Bollcure was developed by the Energy and Resource Institute (TERI), and can also be used to control jassids, white flies, and Spodoptera spp., according to Dr. Nutan Kaushik, a scientist at TERI.

Bollworms have been one of the primary pest pressures in India for many years on a number of economically important crops.
