India Gets New Dupont Insecticide
DuPont will formally launch a new insecticide in India in mid-November 2008. Coragen, says the company, is targeted to market as an integral part of ‘lepidopteran pest management’ programs to sugarcane, cotton, cabbage, and cauliflower growers. DuPont is also deploying technical teams across the states to organize training programs for growers.
Ram Mudhokar, Business Director for South-Asia region of DuPont, said that Coragen’s impact on the environment is less compared to other insecticides – only about 60 ml is sufficient per acre. "We have yet to fix the price for the product, it would be approximately cost in the range of Rs 600 to Rs 700 per acre," added Mudhokar.
