Iran, Vietnam Partner In Ag

The Agriculture Ministers of Iran and Vietnam have stated a desire to expand cooperation in agriculture, reports the Mathaba News Network.

Iran’s Agriculture Jihad Minister Mohammad-Reza Eskandari said in a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart that the two countries can launch joint projects in agriculture, cattle breeding, and fishery that benefit both countries. Eskandari also called for the expansion of technical and scientific cooperation in forestry, wood production, and the export of local products, as well as the creation of a joint working group in the near future.

Vietnam’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat noted the need for expansion of cooperation between the countries in the biotechnology sector. He said that Vietnamese officials are making efforts to promote economic growth and improve the living standards of the Vietnamese people. He added that Vietnam imports wheat, meat, cotton, soybeans, corn, and chemical fertilizers.
