“At a time when the agricultural business sector is evolving into a broader more sophisticated area, he brings to the company significant experience in data analysis at both a B2B industry level as well as at the farm level, an ideal combination for developing insights and client-focused solutions,” said Kleffmann CEO Burkhard Kleffmann.

Fairclough brings to the table more than 20 years of experience analyzing business intelligence and research. Prior to his appointment, he was in charge of coordinating the AMIS Global database of seeds and crop protection for Scottish consultancy Phillips McDougall.

In his new position Fairclough will oversee the final stages and fruition of the amis AgriGlobe database, a product launched in February. The subscription information service will contain data on seeds and chemicals as well as information gleaned from both qualitative and quantitative formal surveys that Kleffmann conducts with its dedicated farmer research participant panels. Data points include crops, crop area, global sales value, brand financial information, area treated, country and others. The database includes data from previous years which allows users to track historic and emerging industry patterns via two analytical report-generating tools.
